Dr.
Banning is a founder of TAM Group, Inc. and is responsible for
the overall technical integrity and direction of the firm's
work. Dr. Banning has over 25 years of complex systems analysis
and technology planning experience across a broad range of industries.
He has been personally responsible for the design and implementation
of wide-area heterogeneous systems integration projects, commercial
products incorporating expert systems, distributed relational
database solutions, imaging-based workflow management environments,
and global corporate IT strategies. Dr. Banning has been directly
responsible for the design, development, and marketing of software
products across a broad range of platforms and has been retained
to direct and audit commercial product development groups. He
is the developer of the TAM Group technology architecture
methodologies, which have been used at numerous Fortune 50
corporations, as well as its process analysis and continuous
improvement program implementation processes.
Prior
to founding TAM Group, Dr. Banning was the sole proprietor of CL
Banning Consulting. The business focused on the development and
delivery of software products for real-time demand forecasting and operations
scheduling of power grids. He was
also engaged to design and develop an expert-system
forecasting product for the Electric Power Research Institute. In
addition, Dr. Banning consulted to corporate and venture-capital-funded
product development groups for whom he designed and delivered multi-protocol integration solutions and
algorithms for complex expert-system circuit routing products.
Dr.
Banning began his career in the Systems Planning Group of the Power
Engineering Division of Black & Veatch Architect-Engineers in
Kansas City MO.
Dr.
Banning has been an invited speaker before engineering and IT
professional societies and has represented clients before state
and federal regulatory agencies and a joint committee of Congress.
Dr. Banning is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University
of Kansas and holds M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the State University
of New York at Buffalo. He has post-graduate engineering courses
from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and the University
of California, Berkeley. Dr. Banning has also been an Adjunct
Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Kansas.
